NOA Member Optometrists Honored at An Evening with the NOA

Congratulations to the 2023 NOA Award Winners. We are proud to announce the following recipients whose peers chose to receive these awards:

  • Dr. Jeffrey Austin, Lifetime Achievement Award
  • Dr. Stephanie Woo, Optometric Educator of the Year
  • Dr. Jesus Martinez, Young Optometrist of the Year
  • Dr. Gregory Koenig, Optometrist of the Year
  • Dr. Troy Ogden, President's Award

The following NOA members were recognized for their service to the NOA:

  • Dr. Spencer Quinton, NOA President Service Award
  • Dr. Troy Ogden, NNOS President Service Award
  • Dr. Frances-Lynn Jones, SNOS President Service Award

But the honors don't stop with NOA Optometrists; we also celebrate community and state leaders who help expand access to eye care for all Nevadans. We are proud to have given the following awards:

  • Dr. Helga Pizio, Vision Award for Community Service
  • Mr. Peter Guzman, Eye for Access Award
  • Assemblywoman Elaine Marzola and Assemblywoman Sandra Jauregui, Visionary Award
  • Nevada State Senator Heidi Seevers Gansert, Eye Care Champion Award
  • Governor Joe Lombardo, Insight Award

The awards were presented this past Saturday, March 9, 2024, at an Evening with the NOA event at The Blind Center of Nevada. We appreciate all who attended, and a special thank you to Dr. William Harvey for speaking on behalf of The Blind Center of Nevada, Dr. Teri Geist for sharing an update from the AOA, and our partners, Optos and Zeiss, who helped make this evening possible.
